Family Consultancy
Supportive guidance for separating couples who want to protect their children, reduce conflict, and find a healthier way forward.
What is Family Consultancy?
Separation and divorce are among the most stressful life transitions. When emotions run high and the future feels uncertain, it’s easy to fall into patterns of blame, resentment or avoidance. But there is another way.
Our Family Consultancy service offers calm, professional guidance to help you:
-
Prioritise your children’s emotional wellbeing
- Communicate calmly and respond to each other healthily, not reactively
-
Minimise conflict and misunderstanding
-
Create a reflective space to discuss co-parenting and communication
-
Engage with the legal process in a more constructive and less adversarial way
This service is ideal for couples who are committed to keeping things civil and want the best possible outcome for everyone involved.
Please note this is not mediation or legal advice: we work alongside family law professionals and mediators.
Who We Work With
We support separating couples at any stage of the process:
-
Those just starting to consider divorce
-
Parents who want to co-parent positively
-
Individuals feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to approach things calmly
-
Couples already in mediation or legal proceedings who want to reduce tension
You can attend sessions together or individually, and we can also liaise with your solicitor or mediator, including attending meetings in person if needed.

FAQ
Do you offer in person or online support?
We mainly work fully online with all our clients, using Zoom, but we are happy to attend some in-person meetings at your solicitor’s offices if we are working collaboratively.
I don't want to face my ex. Can you see us separately?
Yes, we are very happy to work with you as an individuals and to offer support you both separately. Over time, we can help you decide whether a joint session to help you communicate with our support could be useful.
How many sessions will I need?
Although we can offer one-off sessions, we generally suggest Family Consultancy clients attend between 2-6 sessions, which is usually a mix of individual and joint sessions. We are also happy to offer longer term support if further counselling or psychotherapy would be beneficial.
How much do sessions cost?
The fees depend on the therapist that you work with and the sort of support that you are looking for as every client is different. We do offer some lower cost therapy slots but as a rule most Family Consultancy sessions range from £75-£150+VAT per session.
