Relationship support that fits a London life
If you’re reading this between meetings, on the Tube, or after another evening where you and your partner missed each other again — you’re in the right place. London rewards ambition, but it often asks a lot from your relationship in return.
At The Relationship Therapy Practice, we offer online couples therapy for London-based couples who want something honest, warm, and grounded — without adding another commute to an already packed week.
Who We Work With Across London
Our clients are often living the London paradox: close together geographically, but rarely in the same room at the same time. We regularly support:
- Dual-career couples where work pressure is spilling into home life
- Partners navigating fertility, pregnancy or early parenthood in the city
- Couples weighing up whether to stay in London or move out
- Blended families and stepparents finding their rhythm
- Partners rebuilding trust after an affair, emotional or physical
- Couples considering separation who want to do it well — together or apart
Whether you’re in Clapham, Hackney, Richmond or further out into the commuter belt, sessions happen securely online so neither of you has to cross the city to get there.
Why online therapy works especially well for London couples
- No travel. Log in from home, a quiet office, or a hotel room on a work trip.
- Evening and early-morning slots for shift workers, parents and professionals.
- Join from separate locations when one of you is travelling — therapy doesn’t have to pause.
- Consistency: the same therapist, wherever life takes you in the city.
What our couples therapy looks like
We use an integrative approach drawing on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Imago, psychodynamic and systemic thinking. In practice, that means we work with both the feelings underneath the arguments and the patterns that keep repeating. Some of our therapists also specialise in Transactional Analysis which can be a very useful way of understanding relationship dynamics.
A typical course of therapy runs for eight to sixteen sessions, though some couples come for a short MOT and others stay longer for deeper work. Sessions are fifty minutes and take place weekly or fortnightly via a secure video platform

FAQ
Do you offer in person or online support?
We mainly work fully online with all our clients, using Zoom, but we are happy to attend some in-person meetings at your solicitor’s offices if we are working collaboratively.
We live in different parts of London. Can you still work with us?
Absolutely. One of the quiet strengths of online therapy is that you can join from two different locations, which is useful when work or childcare makes being in the same room difficult.
How many sessions will I need?
Although we can offer one-off sessions, we generally suggest Family Consultancy clients attend between 2-6 sessions, which is usually a mix of individual and joint sessions. We are also happy to offer longer term support if further counselling or psychotherapy would be beneficial.
How much do sessions cost?
The fees depend on the therapist that you work with and the sort of support that you are looking for as every client is different. We do offer some lower cost therapy slots but as a rule most sessions range from £75-£150+VAT per session.
